JOB DESCRIPTION

 

TITLE: Boiling Springs High School Campus Security

                                                                                                                                 

FLSA:   Non-Exempt

 

SUMMARY:

The purpose of campus security is to identify potential problems regarding welfare, safety and/or security of students, personnel, visitors and/or site; maintaining safety at school site by enforcing disciplinary policies and regulations; communicating information and responding to inquires; and providing emergency care to students and other individuals.

 

This positions reports to Assistant Principal in charge of Facilities.

                                 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure rear entrance student campus security checkpoint is secure.
• Redirect all visitors trying to enter campus using the rear entrance to the main office for processing. 
• Responsible for campus security and student safety. 
• Direct traffic before and after school and monitor the student parking lot throughout the day.
• Communicates school policies and enforce procedures to students, personnel and visitors for the purpose of ensuring their understanding and the potential consequences of violation.
• Ability to effectively communicate with office personnel and administration via walkie talkie.
• Patrols school parking lot for the purpose of providing administrative visibility, maintaining security, and deterring crime.
• Responds to emergency situations for the purpose of addressing immediate safety concerns.
• Must be able to lift at least 10 pounds and remain standing for prolonged periods of time.  
• Pleasant demeanor to interact with students and visitors.
• Other responsibilities as determined by administration.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

 

Education and Experience:

• High school graduate.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibility

Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized routines; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; and operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is a continual opportunity to impact the district’s services.

 

Working Environment

 

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 10% sitting, 40% walking, and 50% standing. The job is performed under with some temperature extremes.
