JOB DESCRIPTION

 

TITLE: Speech-Language Pathologist 

                                                                                                                        

FLSA:   Exempt

 

 

GENERAL SUMMARY

Evaluate speech and language skills and provide speech therapy services for students in preschool through 12th grade that demonstrate significant weaknesses in their communication skills, including but not limited to the areas of articulation, language, fluency, voice, and pragmatics, which negatively impact their academic and/or functional performance at school.

 Reports to Building Level Administrator and Director of Special Services.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 KNOWLEDGE

An ideal candidate for this position will demonstrate strong abilities in the areas of organization/time management, flexibility, and oral/written communication, as well as a strong knowledge of typical speech and language development and effective treatment strategies for atypical development.

Working Conditions:

 

School environment with no significant exposure to environmental conditions. Requires ability to work under a degree of stress related to duties that require considerable attention and working with students. Physical demands are restricted to school activities requiring movement/lifting items weighing up to ten pounds. Occasional local travel required.
